Using baseline data from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, this peer-reviewed study finds adolescent pregnant women (15–19 years) showed better utilization of several ANC indicators than adults, though gaps remain in full ANC uptake. Determinants of ANC use included religion, wealth, food insecurity, participation in VHSNDs, PDS/ICDS entitlements, and family planning knowledge. The paper urges ensuring full ANC beginning in the first trimester for adolescents and tailoring interventions to adolescent married girls entering motherhood.
