This UNICEF framework addresses the “triple burden” of child malnutrition—undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and overweight/obesity—through food systems transformation. It outlines actions in three domains: improving children’s foods (including fortification), enhancing food environments, and promoting positive feeding practices. The strategy integrates nutrition into five key systems: food, health, education, water and sanitation, and social protection. It advocates for aligning public and private sector policies with children’s right to nutritious, safe, affordable, and sustainable diets.
