This UNICEF acceleration plan (2022–2023) targets 15 countries hardest hit by the global food and nutrition crisis. It outlines a strategy for scaling up early prevention, detection, and treatment of child wasting by focusing on nutritious diets, essential nutrition services, positive care practices, and social protection for women and children. Key interventions include simplified treatment protocols, maternal nutrition support, RUTF scale-up, and community-based MUAC screening. The plan emphasizes integration with social protection systems and partnerships with WFP to ensure sustainable solutions, aiming to reach over 26 million children and women in 12 months.
