This article examines wasting among children in India and proposes an integrated continuum-of-care model under POSHAN Abhiyaan. It underscores the high burden of wasting at birth and infancy, driven by maternal malnutrition. While current efforts focus on inpatient treatment, the article highlights the need for community-based management, early detection, prevention, and tracking of children through Anganwadi platforms and health workers. Integration of government schemes, better service coverage, and nutrition-sensitive interventions are essential to reducing severe wasting prevalence.
