Summary: This study evaluates the nutritional content of meals provided to male inmates at the Abidjan Penitentiary Center, Côte d'Ivoire. Analysis of breakfast and lunch showed that most meals lack essential nutrients, with calorie, lipid, potassium, and vitamin B1 deficits. Monotonous diets and portion insufficiency pose risks of malnutrition. The study calls for improved meal diversity and portion size to meet inmates’ dietary needs and mitigate health risks.
